*le happy sigh*

Finally I can upload this... It's taken me a long (for my standards at least) time, but I can finally say it's done. Perhaps that here and there I could still change something... but for now it's done. I'm just as glad as I am proud of this picture. I think I really crossed my borders with this one and pushed myself to get out of my safety zone. I started this picture two months ago, in February, after having finished Skyward Sword for the first time. I love that game to bits, and it's safe to say that it's one of my favourite games. It shouldn't be a surprise that fanart is in order... and though I've had some doodles before, this is truely my first "official" Skyward Link art. He's fun to draw, but did I curse on his chain mail. If you ask me what the most annoying thing in this picture is, it's the chain mail. It's still not a 100% accurate... but the official art seems to be confused about it as well. |D; I know right away that I wanted to keep the paintery style from Skyward Sword, and I realised very well, that I'd have to translate that to Kanda, who I've never had coloured differently than the smooth colouring I usually do. I knew it'd be a challenge, and I'm glad I took it. In fact, I'm so happy with the outcome that I might do this paiting style more often. The blending isn't as nice as with soft brushes, but it's closer to actual painting. |D

The concept of this picture is pretty straightforward: Link is my favourite Game-character, Kanda is my favourite Manga/Anime character and they're both swordsmen. The concept came quite naturally. Though, I have to admit that I roared a bit at Kanda's pose. Too late did I realise that Kanda is actually a righty, which kind of didn't go well with the original pose I had in mind for him. But then I remembered the Second Illusion (Nigentou): Why only have one sword when you can have two? The Real Mugen is in his right hand, whereas the Illusionary Mugen is in his left hand.
This is my own interpretation of the Nigentou with Mugen V3, though... As we haven't really seen Kanda use the Nigentou past the Ark Arc.
I really like this new Mugen. A red Sword is something else than the usual silver gray.

Not to say that the Master Sword is boring, no no. I love Fi dearly, but the detail in that sword. I used paths to get everything in the sword aligned (I suck at straight lines, no lie). But I'm happy with how she turned out. :3 I just hope that Link's hair translated well from the official art to my style. |D; I'm kinda jealous of this Link, because I haven't managed to get the Hylian Shield yet. |D
Also: Fire Shield Earrings. :'D

As for the fight itself... I don' tknow why they're fighting, but I know that they'll both enjoy it. They're both very skilled swordsmen, able to recognise a worthy opponent. That's why Kanda's enjoying himself. Kanda's probably a tad more skilled in wielding the sword, whereas Link is much more versatile. Your oppinion might differ from mine, but I think, that in the final end, Link would win. Kanda's very strong, very skilled, very stubborn, but also very straightforward in his fighting style. Link on the other hand, might not be as strong as Kanda, but he's used to fighting monsters and demons over four times Kanda's size. He will find the opening that Kanda doesn't have.

Anywyas, Enjoy~
